Bulk Waste, Electronics and Appliances

Bulk waste is defined as items which cannot fit fully within your refuse toter (excluding yard waste). O'Fallon's Environmental Services offers free bulk waste drop off days and curbside collection of bulk waste (for a fee). In addition, O'Fallon offers free electronic recycling days and curbside collection of used appliances (for a fee).

Bulk waste drop-off

O’Fallon residents may dispose of items too large to fit into trash containers, free, by bringing them to the City’s waste transfer station at one of the City's bi-monthly bulk waste drop offs. The waste transfer station is located at 1572 Progress West Lane, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.

The 2015 bulk waste drop-off days will be held 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on:

  • Saturday, June 27
  • Saturday, August 29
  • Saturday, October 24
  • Saturday, December 19

To utilize this service, O’Fallon residents must be current customers of the City’s trash service with their account in good standing. Residents will be required to display a current photo ID showing their O’Fallon address. The service is limited to one car, pickup or small trailer (10 feet or less) load per address for each scheduled drop-off day. Residents must unload their own items.

Acceptable items for drop-off include: furniture, carpets, swing sets, bikes, toddler pools, sports and exercise equipment, lawn mowers (but not riding mowers), large hand tools, barbecue grills, computer monitors, televisions and fluorescent bulbs.

Unacceptable items include: appliances, automotive tires, parts and batteries, yard waste, railroad ties, liquid household hazardous waste: paints and stains, gas, oil, solvents, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides.

To dispose of unacceptable items, such as hazardous waste, you're encouraged to contact St. Charles County Recycle Works at 636-949-1800.

Bulk waste Pick-Up

Each item for bulk pick-up should not exceed 60 lbs. The hopper space that the bulk items will be loading into is 6 feet length x 3 feet width x 3 feet height. The fee applies per hopper space and will be added to your bi-monthly trash bill.

Electronics and Appliance Recycling Events

O'Fallon's environmental Services Department offers free electronics and appliance recycling events from 8 a.m. to noon in the T.R. Hughes Ballpark parking lot off Tom Ginnever Avenue, 900 T.R. Hughes Boulevard. The 2015 Electronic and Appliance Recycling dates are scheduled for:

  • Saturday, August 22
  • Saturday, October 17
  • Saturday, December 12

Just about any item with an electrical cord or a battery can be dropped off at O’Fallon’s free electronics recycling events, which occurs every other month. Acceptable items include household appliances, water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, microwaves, kitchen appliances, computers, computer monitors (including CRT monitors), printers, keyboards, laptops, hard drives, scanners, DVDs, cell phones, pagers, fax machines, answering machines, radios, stereos, speakers, VCRs, power tools, lawn and garden equipment (which must have gas and oil removed), and LED/LCD TVs.
However, a fee will be charged for each CRT (cathode ray tube) TV set; the cost is $20 per set measuring 27 inches or less, and $40 per set over 27 inches, wooden console sets and rear projection sets.
Please do not bring smoke detectors, glass lamps, light bulbs, VHS tapes or alkaline batteries.
