O’Fallon’s "National Days of Service and Remembrance" provides service projects inspired by 9-11

Volunteers and donations are needed for O’Fallon’s National Days of Service and Remembrance on September 11–12. The event features community service projects honoring the everyday heroes and the memory of the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

  • The Support Our Troops Supply Drive, which began August 11, continues through September 11 for personal care items, batteries, and small packages of snacks for troops. Drop-off sites are listed at . Donations of $15.90 per box are also needed to cover mailing costs. Called a “Stamp of Support,” the donations can be dropped off at City Hall, with checks made payable to H.E.R.O.E.S. Care.
  • The Patriot Blood Drive will be held on Friday, September 11, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at the O’Fallon Municipal Center (City Hall), 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Walk-ins are welcome!
  • The City of O’Fallon and United Way of Greater St. Louis will partner to host Citizens United in Service on Saturday, September 12, from 9 –11 a.m. This event, which is supported by a Points of Light grant received by United Way, offers service projects designed to support first responders and military personnel:
    • Clean the monuments and green space at O’Fallon Veterans Memorial Walk
    • Collect litter along Veterans Memorial Parkway
    • Sort and box donated items for shipment to U.S. troops
    • Write and decorate “thank you” cards for military members and their families

Celebrate America’s birthday at O’Fallon’s 2015 Heritage & Freedom Fest with carnival rides, free fireworks, free concerts and sideshows

For an inspiring holiday weekend bursting with fireworks displays, headline entertainers in concert, unique sideshows, Kids’ Zone activities, thrilling carnival rides and great festival food and drinks, come celebrate America’s birthday at O’Fallon’s Heritage & Freedom Fest on July 2-4 at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex, 900 T.R. Hughes Boulevard, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.

Headline entertainers Gloriana, Smash Mouth, LoCash, Toad the Wet Sprocket and special guest Tonic will perform, free, on the festival’s Main Stage over July 3-4. The region’s coolest summer event, Slide the City, is coming to O’Fallon

For the coolest street party of the summer, get tickets for Slide the City – O’Fallon and go slip-sliding away on a 1,000-foot inflatable waterslide. Featuring a padded slip-and-slide the length of three football fields, Slide the City will be set up on Mexico Road at Fort Zumwalt West High School on Saturday and Sunday, July 25 and 26. Food trucks, vendors, music and complimentary parking and shuttle service will make Slide the City – O’Fallon the county’s hottest summer street party.

“This new event is going to be one of the highlights of this summer,” said Tourism and Festivals Manager Marsha Seymour. “It has sold out in other cities, and it will sell out here too! We encourage everyone to sign up for this family-friendly event as soon as possible. To ride the slide, kids must be at least 5 years old and 46 inches tall, but we’ll have a really fun atmosphere with great food and entertainment to make sure that all ages enjoy the fun. And, people will be able to purchase Slide the City merchandise and upgrade their tickets on the day of the event if space is available.”
