For kids, the event offers creative fun with an upcycled craft and a chance to work off some energy playing an interactive inflatable game, “Catch the Bee.” Other attractions include the St. Charles Model Railroad Club, which will have its scenic, radio-controlled layout on display, free, and Historic Heald Home tours for only $2. Picnic-style fare for purchase will be provided by Giardina’s Gourmet Dogs & More and Jo-Jo’z Frozen Yogurt. Admission and parking are free.

Historic Heald Home tours will be available for only $2. Event admission and parking are free, and concessions and handmade goods will be available for purchase. A highlight of Founders’ Day will be the 11 a.m. dedication of Zumwalt’s Fort, a rebuilt War of 1812 family fort which will be open to the public as an interpretive site.
