Stormwater Management
Education and Outreach
Stormwater management includes involving all residents and property owners in learning about our local water resources, how we affect water quality and flooding potential, and what we can do to minimize pollution and damage.
We travel to with our education booth, make classroom presentations; give presentations to community organizations; welcome volunteers in our storm drain marking campaign and stream clean ups; develop information for homeowners and commercial establishments and businesses; and bring awareness to water quality issues through the media.

Public education and involvement is an important component of the City’s NPDES Phase II permit.
Current Events and News
A very important aspect to this program is public participation and
involvement. We rely heavily on volunteers to spread the word on the
importance of keeping our runoff as clean as possible. Volunteers of
all groups and ages participate in our stenciling and clean ups.
These are fun and easy activities that include something for almost
everyone.
Below are the scheduled events for the upcoming year. Keep
checking back as more events get added as requested throughout
the year.
Our department tries to keep flexible and work with groups outside of
these dates as well so do not hesitate to contact us if you would like
to request a different date.
Operation Clean Stream
This is a creek clean up event. Multiple creeks throughout the City will be cleaned this day. Receive a FREE t-shirt for volunteering and lunch after ward.
Earth Day
This event has multiple environmental projects scheduled. Creek cleanup, storm drain stenciling and other projects will be scheduled. Receive a FREE t-shirt for volunteering and lunch after ward.
National Make a Difference Day
This event has multiple environmental projects scheduled. Creek cleanup, road side clean up, storm drain stenciling and other projects will be scheduled. Receive a FREE t-shirt for volunteering and lunch after ward.
