Community Development
About
Community Development directs, guides and manages the growth and development of the City to protect the public health and safety, to promote the general welfare and to increase the quality of life of all City residents. The department provides direction, manages capital projects, and coordinates the activities of the Community Development Group with other department, sections and groups within the City.
Within Community Development there are several divisions:
- Building Safety
- Code Enforcement
- Construction Inspection
- Engineering
- Environmental Services
- Planning and Development
- Project Management
- Street Division
- Traffic Division
Other resources:
- City projects (Road, Sanitary, Stormwater and Water projects)
- Snow removal
- Street creep request form
Community Development was created to coordinate activities between these departments and to facilitate better customer service by providing “one-stop” shopping for development activities. They are responsible for taking the vision of the elected officials and turning them into realities.
