O’Fallon Citizens Police Academy
Starting February 27
7–9:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays
Registration closes Friday, February 16

Residents who are age 18+ are invited to apply for the O’Fallon Citizens Police Academy. The six-week program offers hands-on training, a chance to ride along on patrol, plus discussions of police investigations, less-lethal weapon use, drug awareness, ID theft and more.
The cost for the course is $30. Applicants mustbe at least 18, residents of St. Charles County and pass a background check.

Or they can be picked up at the O’Fallon Police Department.

Activities and topicscovered in the program include:

  • Patrol operations, including riding assignments with an O’Fallon police officer
  • Investigations overview (criminal, traffic, DWI, crime scene)
  • Drug awareness, local drug task force
  • Use of force, Taser and less-lethal weapons
  • Internet safety, identity theft awareness
  • An introduction to firearms training at the O’Fallon firearms range
  • Police K-9 program
  • Community Services Division
  • St. Charles County Regional SWAT
