IMPORTANT: Update on the recent Census letters
The City of O’Fallon is aware of the errors in the city address of our residents on letters sent from the US Census Bureau. It is possible that this same error will be made on the Census Forms you will receive in the next few days. However, you will still be counted as a resident of O’Fallon! Each Census Form is geo-coded with a bar card that pinpoints your exact location. The address that appears on the front of the form is for the Post Office ONLY and has no bearing on how you are counted.
The US Census Bureau has assured us that each and every geo-coded form will accurately pinpoint your location. An accurate count is crucial to O’Fallon’s future, so please send in your forms. The City will continue to work with the US Census Bureau to ensure that each and every O’Fallon resident is counted.
Please see the attached document (PDF) from the US Census Bureau which details what to do if you receive a Census Form with an incorrect City in the address line.
