Citizen Programs
Safety Town
Safety Town is a program for youngsters age 4½ - 6 that teaches the basics of keeping safe. Certified teachers, police officers, firefighters and other experts coach children as they practice and experience “real life” situations through a simulated town layout. Lessons teach how to be safe with traffic, bikes, water, fire, poisons, animals and personal safety.
O’Fallon Safety Town is a nationally-accredited program co-sponsored by the O’Fallon Police Department, VFW Post 5077 and Ladies’ Auxiliary. There are two half-day programs offered, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Only parents or legal guardians may register children. Registration starts in the spring and the program starts in the summer.
