Speaking at the April 28 City Council meeting, Mayor Bill Hennessy announced the nationally-known entertainers set to perform, free, at O’Fallon, Missouri’s Heritage & Freedom Fest. Country music’s rising star Chase Bryant and Nashville’s acclaimed Love and Theft will take the Main stage on July 3 and the sensational KONGOS with special guest Sister Hazel will rock the festival on July 4. O’Fallon’s 2016 Heritage & Freedom Fest will be held July 2-4 at the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex, 900 T. R. Hughes Boulevard, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366.
“We’re proud to bring top-name talent to our City for everyone in the region to hear and see in person and celebrate our country’s independence,” said Hennessy. “In addition to free concerts by these great artists, we’ll have two nights of exceptional fireworks displays, free sideshows, kids’ activities, three days of thrilling carnival rides and the biggest Fourth of July parade in St. Charles County. I’m proud to say that O’Fallon’s Independence Day weekend celebration is one of the largest and most popular in the metro area.”
The Fest kicks off with family entertainment from 2–10 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, featuring carnival rides, a colorful midway with food and games, Knockerball, the Krazy Kids bungee jump, the Bubblebus and shows by strongman John Beatty, a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”
The fun continues on Sunday (2-11 p.m.) and Monday (noon – 10 p.m.) with concerts by nationally-recognized artists and popular regional musicians, more sideshows, carnival rides and games and fireworks displays on both nights. Country Music July 3
This 23-year-old Texan is a top-flight guitar player, head-turning songwriter and a recording artist who co-produced his own debut album, Chase Bryant, with the hits “Take It On Back,” and “Little Bit of You.” He’s also toured with country music greats Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington and Tim McGraw. His mission: “It’s my job to put the party on and give people a good reason to have fun.”
Love and Theft
One of the country’s hottest young acts, Love and Theft has been nominated for ACM, CMA and CMT awards for their #1 country smash and platinum single, “Angel Eyes” and the Top 10 Hit “Runaway.” With high-energy performances and emotionally-forthright songcraft, the Stephen Barker-Liles and Eric Gunderson duo is at its country best on their new album, Whiskey on My Breath.
Rock ‘n Roll on July 4
This multi-cultural, multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalist band of four brothers creates KONGOS unique and irresistible sound. Fans can hear them live and free on their foot-stomping anthem, “Come with Me Now” and the hits “I’m Only Joking” and “I Want to Know,” from their album, Lunatic. The band’s upcoming LP, Egomaniac, features their popular single, “Take It from Me.”
