Treat your family to a night of fun and holiday magic at O’Fallon’s Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18. The event will be held at O’Fallon’s Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. Admission and parking are free.
The highlight of the event is the countdown to the lighting of a huge Christmas tree, a City tradition led by Mayor Bill Hennessy, launching the official start of the holiday season. The evening’s entertainment is free and includes live choral and instrumental music throughout City Hall, visits with Santa, face painting, holiday games and crafts, and rides on the City Train (weather permitting). Vendors will have hand-crafted gifts and decorations for sale, and concessions will be available for purchase.
In the spirit of the season, visitors are asked to bring to the ceremony:
- Non-perishable canned or boxed food and personal care items for donating to O’Fallon’s Cornucopia of Care food drive, which benefits community food pantries.
- New winter hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks for decorating the “Giving Tree” in the lobby. The items will be distributed by the Salvation Army.
