Get the holidays off to a joyful start at the Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, in the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street, O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. At 6:30 p.m., gather in the Rotunda and join Mayor Bill Hennessy in counting down to the lighting of the City’s giant holiday tree to officially welcome Santa and launch the holiday season in O’Fallon.
Admission and activities are free. Choral and instrumental music will be performed by the Forest Park Elementary School Choir. Kids can visit Santa (parents, be sure to bring your camera), join in holiday games, make crafts and play in the bounce house, and the whole family can take a ride on the “O’Fallon Express” City Train (weather permitting). Vendors will offer hand-crafted gifts and holiday items for sale, and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
In the spirit of the season, visitors are asked to bring a few items for donation to those in need:
- New winter hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and socks of all sizes for decorating the “Giving Tree” in the lobby. The items will be donated to the Salvation Army.
- Non-perishable canned or boxed food and personal care items, which will be distributed to local food pantries through O’Fallon’s Cornucopia of Care food drive
