To identify the nation’s safest cities, the council reviewed FBI Uniform Crime Report Statistics. The cities’ rankings were then based on the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes per 100,000 people.
“I want to thank our residents and businesses who watch out for one another and help to keep their neighborhoods safe,” said Mayor Bill Hennessy. “And, we are truly grateful to the men and women of the O’Fallon Police Department who are among the most dedicated in the nation, as evidenced by this report and many others. Their selfless dedication to keeping our residents safe is on display in O’Fallon each and every day. This honor is another example of our community’s commitment to keeping O’Fallon as a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
