O’Fallon’s Fort Zumwalt Park reopening to traffic January 20th

Fort Zumwalt Park in O’Fallon, Missouri, will officially reopen to regular public use on Monday, January 20, 2014. The park has been closed to traffic so that Parks staff could complete the de-installation of the Celebration of Lights, the City’s 2013 holiday lights display.

Do you qualify for O’Fallon’s first-time home-buyer Down Payment Assistance program?

First-time homebuyers who are purchasing a house, condo or villa in the City of O’Fallon may be eligible for a zero-interest loan of $5,000 toward the down payment and closing costs if they meet HUD income qualifications and other criteria. In addition, first-time homebuyers will be required to take a housing counseling class and then fill out an application with one of three agencies that the City has contracted with. The agencies are:

With winter weather predicted for this afternoon and into tomorrow, residents are reminded that O'Fallon's Municipal Code requires that cars not be parked in the street when there is any accumulation of snow, ice or other frozen precipitation.

Holiday Break Camp offers fun for kids, peace of mind for parents

Parents who enroll children ages 5 – 12 in O’Fallon’s “Holiday Break Camp” can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their kids are safe, having fun and getting exercise, too. For their part, kids can have a great time finding new friends, playing games, making crafts and enjoying other activities. Camps meet from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily in the Renaud Spirit Center, the City’s indoor recreation complex. Campers need to bring a sack lunch each day; no refrigeration is available. Two sessions are available:

  • Thursday and Friday, December 26-27; the cost is $28 for O’Fallon residents and $32 for non-residents.
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, December 30-31 and January 2-3 (no camp on Wednesday, January 1); the cost is $56 for O’Fallon residents and $63 for non-residents.

Parents and guardians must register campers in person no later than December 16. Registration can be taken at the Renaud Spirit Center (RSC), 2650 Tri Sports Circle (63368), or the Parks and Recreation Administration Office, 400 Civic Park Drive (63366).
