O’Fallon City Council to hold special meeting today

 

The O’Fallon City Council will hold a special meeting today, March 17, 2015, to consider a second reading for final passage of Bill No. 6584, an Ordinance authorizing and directing the purchase of property located on Bryan Road near the intersection of Veteran's Memorial Parkway for Municipal Purposes. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m. in the O’Fallon Municipal Centre (City Hall), 100 North Main Street.

Construction continues at Hwy K and 364; please be patient

Work continues on Highway K at Route 364. The work will be continuing for several more weeks as crews work to finish up tie-in work for the ramps at Route 364, finish up striping in the area, replace the bike path, put in sidewalks and install overhead signs. 

Although construction schedules will vary, in general, the schedule calls for having at least one lane closed both northbound and southbound between South Outer 364 and Route N, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Winter weather predicted for next 36 hours; please move cars off the streets

With winter weather predicted for this afternoon and into tomorrow, residents are reminded that O'Fallon's Municipal Code requires that cars not be parked in the street when there is any accumulation of snow, ice or other frozen precipitation.

Mayor Bill Hennessy and O’Fallon City Council Appoint New City Administrator

Mayor Bill Hennessy and the O’Fallon City Council approved the appointment of Bonnie Therrien as O’Fallon’s new City Administrator tonight during a special session of the O’Fallon City Council. The appointment of Therrien concludes a national search that began in May of this year.

Therrien comes to O’Fallon from Connecticut, where she served in numerous roles in city management, most recently as the Interim Town Manager for North Branford, CT. She brings nearly 30 years of experience in city management to O’Fallon, having worked as a town manager and assistant town manager for cities ranging in population from 9,500 to more than 150,000. Therrien was selected after a lengthy interview process that included candidates from throughout the country. The process was led by Mayor Bill Hennessy and a committee made up of staff and elected officials who volunteered their time to conduct the search.
