This summer, look for special days and events at Alligator’s Creek Aquatic Center, 403 Civic Park Drive (in Civic Park), O’Fallon, Missouri 63366. The outdoor aquatic center features three water slides, two pools, a one-meter spring diving board, a lazy river with tipping buckets, a water playground with zero-depth beach entry, beach-side water play for toddlers and a concession stand. To participate in the race, register in advance by July 19; the entry fee is $12 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Construct a manually-propelled boat for two people out of cardboard and duct tape. Decorations are encouraged. On Race Day, bring your entry to Alligator’s Creek and race across the pool. Alligator’s Creek is open daily through August 13, and then it will be open on weekends and through Labor Day, September 4. Normal pool hours are: noon – 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon – 7 p.m. on Sundays. Daily admission for residents is $4 for kids (ages 3-18) and seniors (55+) and $5 for adults (18-54); non-resident admission is $6 for kids and seniors and $7 for adults. Season passes are available.
